World War II
The Michigan Traveling Military Museum features a number of interesting items from World War II (1939-1945). Our displays show a strong emphasis on named U.S. military groupings from a number of Michigan and out-of-state veterans who served in this monumental conflict. MTMM has a number of excellent historical groupings including original uniforms, insignia, medals, patches, photographs and more. We are very proud of our extensive U.S. Airborne collection that includes items from the 11th, 13th, 17th, 82nd and 101st airborne divisions. In addition to the airborne units, we also have a special interest in items from the Rangers, Glider and Troop carriers, 1st Special Service Force, PT boat service, Submarine service, Underwater Demolition Service, Marine Paratroopers & Raiders, and Fighter and Bomber units. We are actively purchasing items of this type for our collection, so please check back with us from time to time to see our new additions.
