The German military used a large variety of pistols during World War I and World War II. Probably the most famous was the Luger P-08 pistol, a favorite souvenir of returning GIs. Other popular German models included the Walther P38, PP, PPK, Mauser 1896 Broomhandle, Mauser HSC and Sauer 38H. The Germans also adopted and manufactured a number of pistols used by countries they had captured. Some of the more popular types were the Polish P-35 Radom, Czech P27, and Browning 1922 and 1935, to name a few.
